The Ultimate Palm Springs Family Guide

Renaissance Hotel Palm Springs

888 Tahquitz Canyon Way, Palm Springs (760) 322-6000

The Renaissance Hotel in Palm Springs is in a terrific location, near shops, restaurants and the heart of downtown. The address is 888 Tahquitz Canyon Way. It is situated near the convention center and the Spa Casino. The parking lot is huge and we never had a problem finding a space. Parking costs $10/day for self parking and $18/day for valet parking. As for the internet connection, there is free wireless internet available in the lobby and the fee for wireless internet in the guest rooms in $14.95/day.

We checked in and explored all of the main public areas. The hotel is very modern, bright and welcoming! There is a fantastic green, lighted pathway when you first enter that my kids were fascinated by. The lobby is very wide and spacious and there is a wonderful view of the pool area.

After we checked in we went to find our room and again, were very pleased with the public areas. The elevator waiting area and the hallways are so new and stylish but also bright and kid-friendly. We found our room and were floored by the view. When we first entered we found ourselves in a room with a desk and a pull out couch, just beyond that was the modern, spacious bathroom and then the room with the king bed, balcony and VIEW. We could see the entire pool area and the beautiful San Jacinto mountains towering over the hotel. Just gorgeous!

The pool area has many amazing features. There are lots and lots of padded lounge chairs: a must for the desert! Next there is a long, elevated firepit surrounded by chairs. This was my kids’ favorite part of the hotel. They were so fascinated by watching the fire and enjoying the view. As for the pools, there is a really large, nicely designed main pool and a shallow pool just for the kids. Both pools are heated year-round. Next to the children’s pool is an enormous sand pit. So great for families!

Some of the great amenities here included guest laundry (coin-operated) and a small, but well-stocked gift shop. The hotel also offered nightly turndown service which it really nice for families who tend to need a little refresher to keep the room tidy.

We would highly recommend this hotel for families. Our highlights: great location, easy parking, the staff was friendly, the pool area is so spacious and kid-friendly, we loved the fire pit, the rooms are large and the remodeling was done beautifully.
